Double Integrals and Infinite Products for Some Classical Constants via Analytic Continuations of Lerch’s Transcendent

چکیده
The two-fold aim of the paper is to unify and generalize on the one hand the double integrals of Beukers for ζ(2) and ζ(3), and those of the second author for Euler’s constant γ and its alternating analog ln(4/π), and on the other hand the infinite products of the first author for e, and of the second author for π and e . We obtain new double integral and infinite product representations of many classical constants, as well as a generalization to Lerch’s transcendent of Hadjicostas’s double integral formula for the Riemann zeta function, and logarithmic series for the digamma and Euler beta functions. The main tools are analytic continuations of Lerch’s function, including Hasse’s series. We also use Ramanujan’s polylogarithm formula for the sum of a certain series involving harmonic numbers.

The Lerch Transcendent from the Point of View of Fourier Analysis
We obtain some well-known expansions for the Lerch transcendent and the Hurwitz zeta function using elementary Fourier analytic methods. These Fourier series can be used to analytically continue the functions and prove the classical functional equations, which arise from the relations satisfied by the Fourier conjugate and flat Fourier series. In particular, the functional equation for the Riem...
متن کاملFrom algebraic to analytic double product integrals
The algebraic theory of double product integrals and particularly its role in the quantisation of Lie bialgebras is described. When the underlying associative algebra is that of the Itô differentials of quantum stochastic calculus such product integrals are formally represented as operators which are infinite sums of iterated integrals in Fock space. In this paper we describe some of the analyt...
متن کاملAnalytic and Algorithmic Aspects of Generalized Harmonic Sums and Polylogarithms
In recent three–loop calculations of massive Feynman integrals within Quantum Chromodynamics (QCD) and, e.g., in recent combinatorial problems the so-called generalized harmonic sums (in short S-sums) arise. They are characterized by rational (or real) numerator weights also different from ±1. In this article we explore the algorithmic and analytic properties of these sums systematically. We wo...
متن کاملOn Accelerating the Convergence of Infinite Double Series and Integrals
The generalization of Shanks' e-transformation to double series is discussed and a class of nonlinear transformations, the [A/S]f£ transformations, for accelerating the convergence of infinite double series is presented. It is constructed so as to sum exactly infinite double series whose terms satisfy certain finite linear double difference equations; in that sense it is a generalization of Sha...
متن کاملThe Generalized-Euler-Constant Function γ(z) and a Generalization of Somos’s Quadratic Recurrence Constant
We define the generalized-Euler-constant function γ(z) = ∑∞ n=1 z n−1 ( 1 n − log n+1 n ) when |z| ≤ 1. Its values include both Euler’s constant γ = γ(1) and the “alternating Euler constant” log 4 π = γ(−1). We extend Euler’s two zeta-function series for γ to polylogarithm series for γ(z). Integrals for γ(z) provide its analytic continuation to C − [1,∞). We prove several other formulas for γ(z...
